WFHB Community Radio

I produced over 20 live radio programs for Hola Bloomington, by coordinating monthly schedules for volunteers, hosts, and guests on the show. I communicated with local organizations to find content relevant to the Spanish-speaking community and ensure their voices were being heard. To improve content and ratings I held meetings with volunteers to provide feedback and evaluations.

I learned to operate a soundboard during live programs. I also edited recordings using Audacity and uploaded shows using WordPress to submit content on WFHB website.

During this show I invited Paola Hernandez Baron, Patricia Gonzalez and Ellen L. Vaughan from the Center for Human Growth to explain what mental health is and why it's important. They also talked about the stigmas of mental health in the Spanish speaking community and what services they provide.

For my first show, I chose a hot topic at the time, the hosts interviewed local students from Indiana University-Bloomington on their opinions about the Republican and Democratic conventions. They also discussed how students can better inform themselves about the election and how people can register to vote. Mari Auxi Viloria and Josefina Caracamo interviewed Yesenia Estrada, Helenk Ruben, and Ricardo Bello.
